$100 Apple Store Credit program for iPhone.

Good news for those who bought the Full-Price iPhone before 22nd August. Apple announces that now they can get $100 Apple Store Credit for use online or at an Apple Retail Store. You don’t need a receipt, just enter your phone number and serial number and Apple will SMS you an access code. With this access code you will get the $100 dollars to shop for anything Apple. A couple of interesting things about the program. First, the program doesn’t work with iPhones that haven’t been activated on AT&T. Second, is… Continue Reading»

Cheap iPhone: Only for $299

Apple today announced that it would be selling its new 4GB “iPhone Leper” for as low as $299. This is very good news for iPhone fans. I was myself planning to buy my ‘Dream gadget’ but couldn’t afford it, I think now I can (until I rob a bank). Everybody is talking about iPhone, and I couldn’t stop myself to grab this news… Continue Reading»

SAFA showcases DIA media player in Korea

It’s good to see SAFA back in the saddle after a long bout with silence, and the firm’s latest PMP looks mighty fine, we must say. Dubbed DIA — presumably in reference to the diamond shaped control pad — this diminutive device boasts a 2.4-inch color LCD, plays nice with audio and video files, comes with four mini games, and is available with up to 4GB of internal capacity. Moreover, users can load the rest of their files on a miniSD card, and there’s also a FM tuner and voice… Continue Reading»

Apple quietly handling iPhone touchscreen issues?

It doesn’t appear to be particularly widespread, but according to a couple threads on Apple’s support forums and elsewhere, a small number of iPhones are suddenly getting “dead spots” on their touchscreens — mostly along the bottom, but occasionally affecting the entire surface. Apple is apparently being extremely proactive in dealing with the issue, calling customers who’ve posted in their forums and arranging replacements — the company can’t let anything tarnish the image of The Most Important Device Ever, after all. All of our iPhones are still working great (even… Continue Reading»

Palm Foleo specification details begin to flow

As the rumored launch date of Palm’s Foleo draws closer, it follows logic that the pieces would start to come together regarding the innards of this thing. Shortly after naming Wind River Systems as its preferred Linux provider, Palm is reportedly divulging details about the specifications to developers at the LinuxWorld conference. Under the hood will supposedly be goodies such as a 416MHz Intel / Marvell PXA27x processor, Marathon 2700G graphics accelerator with video output, 128MB of RAM “for holding currently running applications, and 256MB of non-volatile memory,” a CompactFlash… Continue Reading»

DeSmuME DS emulator hits the PSP

While the DS and PSP aren’t without their squabbles in the past, there’s the fact that no matter how much you compare the two, there are certain obvious differences in approach that make it a bit of an apple to oranges scenario. That’s why it’s so intensely awkward to look at the screen above — a DS emulator on the PSP. It’s running a DS homebrew game, GeoWars, and running it pretty slowly at that, but still. DS on a PSP. The DeSmuME emulator was ported by Japanese homebrew developer… Continue Reading»
