Apple introduces iLife ‘08
Apple unveiled an update to its .Mac package of subscription online apps today. Most notably, .Mac now integrates with the just-announced iPhoto ‘08, offering synchronization between iPhoto and a web-based online gallery viewable “in any browser you like” (we should certainly hope so!). Oh, and it integrates with the iPhone, too, via a new “Send to Web Gallery” feature on the phone that — you guessed it — will upload pics snapped with the handset straight to your online gallery. The synchronization is two-way, meaning that other folks… Continue Reading»
Right on cue, Creative’s beefed-up 16GB ZEN V Plus has made its way from Singapore to our shores, offering twice the capacity of the company’s previous top-end model. Otherwise, the player appears to be identical to others in the line (apart from a new black and white color scheme), boasting a 1.5-inch OLED display, a built-in FM radio, and support for MP3, WMA, WAV and Audible audio formats, along with uncompressed AVI video. It’s also somewhat less expensive than the straight currency conversion from Creative’s Singapore site suggested, with it now officially… Continue Reading»

Vista users take note, the Keyspan Remote may be of interest to you if you’re looking to do the whole media PC in the living room thing. This new remote designed specifically for Windows Vista works up to 90 feet away from the machine, and all you have to do is plug that little USB doo-hickey (that’s a technical term…you might not understand) into your machine.
The remote is so powerful, in fact, that it can even see through walls, so finding some kind of out of the way closet or enclosed space to hide… Continue Reading»
Sure, we already knew the Halo 3-themed Xbox 360 was on the horizon, and we even warned you to save a bit extra for those Halo-clad accessories, but now we’re absolutely certain that you better have the necessary dough by next month if you’re looking to be an early adopter. Yep, Microsoft’s special edition console will be landing sometime in September for $399.99, and will include “an authentic Spartan green-and-gold finish,” matching wireless controller, a 20GB hard drive, headset, a Play and Charge Kit, and “more” — though we’re not… Continue Reading»
If you worked with pictures on your iPhone Tuesday morning, and again Tuesday afternoon, you may have noticed a peculiar change. In what might just prove the existence of Apple Elves, iPhones everywhere got a magical Web Gallery update; without actually updating. However, you DO need a .Mac account already set up for this to take effect. The last (and only, at the time of writing) update for the iPhone, version 1.0.1, was released last week, and didn’t include this feature. So unless this is some sort of Apple-exclusive timed update in the works, my Elves theory… Continue Reading»
