The Story of Sergey Brin

Brin Spread

How the Moscow-born entrepreneur cofounded and changed the way the world searches:

It takes a bit of searching to find Sergey Brin’s office at the Googleplex. Tucked away in a corner of Building #43 on this sprawling campus near the southern tip of San Francisco Bay, past rows of colorfully decorated cubicles and dorm-like meeting spaces, Office 211 has a nondescript exterior and sits far from the public eye. Although it takes several twists and turns to get there, his office… Continue Reading»

The 7900 adds a fourth band of GSM coverage (Americans may want to stay away from the 7500… Continue Reading»

Apple introduces iLife ‘08

As expected, Apple’s given its iLife software suite a refresh in the form of iLife ‘08, which Jobs calls the “biggest jump since we introduced it.” A bold claim to be sure, but you’ll soon be able to judge for yourself, as the whole lot’s available today for $79 (and, of course, bundled with all new Macs). Here’s the breakdown app by app:iPhoto: New to iPhoto this around is “Events,” which promises to let you more easily organize your photo albums, and the .Mac Web Gallery, which’ll let you publish

Apple updates .Mac

Apple unveiled an update to its .Mac package of subscription online apps today. Most notably, .Mac now integrates with the just-announced iPhoto ‘08, offering synchronization between iPhoto and a web-based online gallery viewable “in any browser you like” (we should certainly hope so!). Oh, and it integrates with the iPhone, too, via a new “Send to Web Gallery” feature on the phone that — you guessed it — will upload pics snapped with the handset straight to your online gallery. The synchronization is two-way, meaning that other folks… Continue Reading»
