3D TV – Which Future Will We Be Looking At?

3D TV - the Future?

It did not take long for the next format war to start, only months after the much hyped Sony Blu-Ray vs HD DVD war ended a new format fight has been spotted looming in the distance.  While this is still some way off as of yet there are several possible contenders so let me introduce you to the upcoming fighters in each corner.

3D TV – Coming in two forms, though one is more likely to take off, from Germany we have a technology that requires clear… Continue Reading»

Projector for Your Cellphone

Cellphone ProjectorKorea Electronics Technology Institute has revealed today it is developing a 4 ounce projector device for cell phones.  This seems a very positive move from the flexible screen tv that many other companies are looking into.

The current Alpha model of teh ibuilt phone device can create a 60 inch clear image from 6 feet away, quite a feat for such a small device!

I do however get the feeling it will destroy battery life!

KETIS Eye Glass Display technology is a vast improvement over the nearest competition in the portable projector… Continue Reading»

Will Blu-Ray Ever Beat DVD – or Will Buray Become a Thing of the Past?

Blu-ray has been touted as the replacement to DVD’s since it beat HD-DVD to become the next generation of film media. Now however doubts seem to be appearing over the future of the still rather expensive Bluray Technology.

Bluray itself is stunning, images are crisp and sharp, having seen last nights football game on a HD TV I can vouch for the fact that every single blade fo grass is visible, it is like you were standing there. The difference between DVD and Bluray is as noticeable as that of DVD and VCR.

But is it enough to sway the markets?

Yes, Blueray… Continue Reading»

9X Pull out all the stops for the 30 Screen Ergonomic Solution!

9x 30 monitor device

9X are one of the worlds top leaders in monitor design solutions, this was all but apparent as I stared up at this gigantic, and aparently ergonomic Beast that sat in their lobby.

From this picture you cannot actually grasp the sheer size of this technological gargantuan godsend.  I did not dare ask how much they charged for a 30 screen combined visual unit, and instead walked into the back of the store to see some of their other products (Whch can be viewed here).

After nearly half an hour… Continue Reading»

Micro SD Card Portable Projector

Portable ProjectorThe new Micro SD Card portable projector available from Drink Stuff Is probably one of the best releases I have seen in a long time.  Costing only £99 ($198) It is basically a small projector that runs off 4 AA batteries and can play movies off SD Cards. Its a damn small unit measuring 165mm long and 105mm wide.  Its screen size is fairly limited at around one metre square , but lets face it this is a handy portable device, not for a serious home projection… Continue Reading»

Can TV Companies Stop You From Digitally Recording?

A lot of TV Viewers who are hooked on their DVR/Hard Drive Recorders have been extremely annoyed of late since CBS’s survivor has repeatedly failed to record on many peoples Digital TV Recording Equipment, wether it be DVRs or DVD/HD Recorders.

While CBS have denied purposely blocking peoples recorders this does leave rather a serious question…

Can TV Broadcasters prevent you from recording shows?

The short answer is ‘yes’.  They have the technology and the ability to stop your device from picking up when to start recording, and even stop it immediately after it begins.

You then have to ask a rather more important… Continue Reading»
