Cooler Master provide some amazingly innovative cooling solutions, and the Cooler Master Storm laptop cooler is no exception.

The Cooler Master Storm laptop cooler may not beat notebook coolers such as the Zalman NC3000U, but it does provide powerful laptop cooling, perfect for gamers or those who use intensive software on their laptop.

Cooler Master Storm Laptop Cooler

Unlike many high end powerful laptop coolers the Cooler Master Storm does not use a full aluminum covering. This does help a little with weight, but reduces it’s cooling power. The good news is that the fans do make up for this! Instead of having an aluminum frame the Cooler Master Storm provides a sturdy lightweight plastic frame covered by a large thick wire mesh. The overall size of the Cooler Master Storm is capable of holding laptops up to 19 inches in size. The frame does include a carrying handle for portability, unfortunately its large size still makes it rather unwieldy if you are on the move a lot.

Inside the large frame are two position-able 140mm ‘turbine’ fans These do require an AC power source, which yet again makes this a little more awkward for portable use.

The two fans have a unique design which helps improve airflow without having to increase speed. This small change actually does provide a small improvement, but the real winner is the ability to position the fans. This means that you can position the air to where it is required the most.

Feature wise the Cooler Master Storm also outperforms, giving the option of a four port USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 hub. USB 3.0 is a fast emerging technology, so it is nice to be able to prepare for this (if you have a laptop which supports it). It also comes with a fan speed wheel and an on off switch for it’s LED light display.

The light display helps accentuate the looks of this laptop accessory. It has seven colors which fade between each other, providing a unique look to your laptop. While the seven color LED system definitely is great for looks, it does not really do anything for the cooling efficiency.

The Cooler Master Storm Strike Force 19 Inch Laptop Cooler is one of the best laptop coolers for gamers. It’s strong performance and the ability to position the fans provide a huge amount of cooling efficiency. The looks and performance help enhance this gaming image, but the power and looks that make this a fantastic laptop cooler also are downsides for those who work on their laptop.

The iPad, and a large number of other tablet’s have been around for quite some time now. The iPad definitely was not teh first tablet PC, but it has been by far the most popular. As the iPad and other tablet PC’s rise to popularity quite a few people are begining to ask why.

Lets start with the basics, the basics being what tablet PC’s are good for. You can use them to send the web, write short documents (You can write longer documents, but you really wouldn’t want to.) And of course playing games or watching movies. They are also fairly useful organisers, perfect for keeping track of your contacts, emails and calander.

But then you get to what they are not good at. Tablet PC’s have low storage space, and tend to be a little slow. This makes them poorly suited for intensive business or entertainment use. There is also the issue that you cannot easily replace parts if one part breaks down, something which is worrying in a device that runs as expensively as an iPad.

To be honest as much of a gimmic an iPad is, and as impractical as a tablet can be. I still find myself loving these devices, not because of what they can do stand-alone, but rather what they can do when combined with other devices. For instance if you work on the move then a dual screen setup it is impractical to carry around a second monitor if you work from two locations (or more). However anybody who has to use a dual screen setup for work knows just how indispensible it can be when you need to research and write. There is simply not enough room on just one monitor.

This is where a tablet PC comes in handy, it can slide in to your lapotp case with your laptop, it can be used to do your research and keep on top of emails while you continue to work on your laptop, and it is even more flexible than a dual screen setup.

Are tablet PC’s a fad or fashion, personally I think they are both. But that doesn’t mean they still are not highly useful as an additional accessory.

Logitech seem to be the masters of innovation, every few months I see them release a product which just makes me think YES! This month Logitech released their new Logitech solar powered keyboard, which means no more running out of battery power on your keyboard, ever again!

Okay, so lets face it, a battery can last a long time in a wireless keyboard, they are not exactly power intensive devices. While initially was excited by this, I have to admit, I soon began to ask myself if having a self-powered wireless keyboard was really worth the cost.

The truth of the matter is, I suppose, ‘it depends’. While the Solar powered capability does feel a little like a gimmick, it is actually quite useful, and while it can be cheap enough to replace wireless keyboard batteries, it is one of those occasional annoyances that we could do without, especially if you realize that you have run out of batteries and have an upcoming deadline.

Of course the Logitech K750 brings a lot more to the table than solar power to justify the price. The looks of this Logitech solar keyboard are smooth, curvy and definitely beautiful. It comes in four colors, all of which highlight the beauty of the Logitech K750′s ultra thin design. While I prefer the black version of this well crafted keyboard, there is also a white version which seems to have been designed with mac users in mind. It already matches the good looking Mac style, and the white color makes it an ideal accompaniment for a Macbook or a desktop mac.

So if you are looking for a new keyboard the Logitech solar powered keyboard may be the one for you. Whether you are looking for something a little bit more environmentally friendly, or just looking to reduce the hassle of batteries, this is a fantastic solution!

We have had digital cameras for a long time, and many of which can be plugged directly in to your computer or laptop via a USB cable. Despite this it can be awkward to carry a cable around, and it is never truly portable.

The Samsung PL90 is a unique digital camera since it has an inbuilt flip out USB connection which means no more computer connection cables, no more lost connection cables (Very annoying) and the ability to use your camera anywhere, with any computer.

It is actually surprising that a feature such as this has taken so long to appear in digital cameras, but now it has arrived we should soon see this fantastic feature in more digital cameras soon.

The Samsung PL90 is pretty average when it comes to it’s other features. A 12 megapixel resolution, 4x optical zoom and VGA video make the Samsung PL90 a strong, serviceable, but mediocre digital camera.

The Sony PSP Go has been on the lips of handheld addicts for several months now, today however we got our hands on review of the latest Sony Handheld Console.

First off, Sony revised their larger screen approach, dropping it’s widescreen size from 4.3 inches to 3.8 inches. This screen size change may make the device more portable, but some worry that it will affect it’s video viewing capability.

The new PSP is much smaller, and 43% lighter than it’s previous incantations. This makes the device much more portable, yet it holds a new inbuilt 16Gb of flash memory. If this is not enough for your portable pleasures then it also has a memory slot to extend your storage requirements.

While the controls of the PSP Go closely resemble that of the PSP standard, it may seem a little cramped for some people, infact the smaller form of the new PSP Go make it more awkward in many ways. In some ways it feels like the Sony PSP Go is not so much the next generation PSP, rather a competitor to the iPod touch, without the touch screen.

The PSP Go has all the previous wireless capability of the PSP, with inbuilt WiFi. on top of this though the PSP Go has bluetooth capability, for wireless headsets and the like. This does also however mean that you can hook the device up to a 3G enabled phone, or a PS3 controller. However how you would see the PSP Go screen while holding a PS3 controller is yet to be explained!

Sony have been developing new title for the PSP Go from many of its most popular brands, including Metal Gear Solid and Gran Turismo. These are showing some great promise, but if these fail to disappoint then you can get many titles over the PSP Download service (Via WiFi).

While the PSP Go has several interesting features, people do have some questions over why Sony have not integrated any telephony or even voip features to give it a chance to compete with the iPhone.

Its not often I go for gimmicks but I have to admit after a quick play on these I was hooked, especially as I began to trounce my friends in battle. The controls are fairly easy to master and the rotor is balanced by two fans keeping the device fairly steady and keeping it pointed the way you want. The kit also comes with two spare wings and two spare propellors should you have any collisions in an over enthusiastic dog fight between these top notch gadgets!

There have been rumours of a high definition version of YouTube being released for some time now, many predicted it was rumour, but today a hack has been announced for HD Youtube.

So how do you hack you tube to get HD quality video?

Simply add '&fmt=22' to the end of the URL.

Doing this on any video uploaded in High Definition will provide you with a fully compliant HD Youtube Video!

Of course the HD version of youtube can take much longer to load teh same clip, when we tested it the loading time was near 15 minutes longer ona 1 minute long…

Doing this on any video uploaded in High Definition will provide you with a fully compliant HD Youtube Video!

Of course the HD version of youtube can take much longer to load the same clip, when we tested it the loading time was near 15 minutes longer ona 1 minute long video (Ouch!)

The other two problems are, you cannot at this time choose full screen mode form the embedded video, you have to go to the google video pages AND this is extremely processor intensive, so make sure you have a decent PC specced up before attempting to run HD YouTube!

Apart from that however the High Definiton youtube videos are clear and sharp, it is very easy to do and the entire one line of this how to enable HD YouTube explained that!

Windows 7 is the next generation of Windows after windows Vista. There is not much currently known about wWindows 7 at this version in time appart from that seen from some vague screenshots and that it has been changed from Vienna to Windows 7 to signify 'Simplicity'.

Persoanlyl I think XP is simple enough, and that any attempts to make windows simpler will result in complete loss of fnuctionality.

But never mind that, lets take a closer look at the upcoming Windows 7

Persoanlyl I think XP is simple enough, and that any attempts to make windows simpler will result in complete loss of fnuctionality.

But never mind that, lets take a closer look at the upcoming Windows 7

Firstly Windows 7 is a new Operating systme, though it has been described as Vista Service Pack 3 due in part to its unnerving similarites to the Vista OS. Under the hood though there have been several upgrades, from things as minor as the calculator to the inclusion of a wider Video Codec set, allowing windows users to view video and audio in a much wider range of formats than previously supported in out of the box windows.

Several applications found in Vista however will not be available in Windows 7 and must be downloaded seperately, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker and Windows Photo Gallery will instead be available to download as a Windows Live Essentials Suite.

One of the real kickers of Windows 7 however is that we have been promised an advanced, easy to use home networking setup system, allowing easier network installation and management, easier file sharing and faster file transfer!

Keep an eye out for our enxt article, how to make Windows Vista Look Like Windows 7!
