I have to admit here, that I am a long term Windows user. However I think it is safe to say that I would be lying if I said I did not admire the Mac’s sleek looks and fairly nifty GUI.

Nevertheless, Mac fans have been getting restless over the last few months, with next to no communication from Apple in regards to a new 2010 MacBook Pro upgrade. Some users are even suggesting that it is about time the MacBook Pro was given a new look. This is not too surprising considering the recent Mac success has come about more by design than any technical benefits.

While there have been some alleged emails from Steve Jobs regarding the future of the MacBook, and the possibility of a nwe design, at yet we only have rumors. With any luck in the coming weeks we will however catch a glimpse at the 2010 MacBook Pro, and even if we do not get a new design, we should be looking at some pretty good spec increases!

I have to admit though, we cannot blame Apple for holding back on a new 2010 Macbook Pro edition, with the release of the rather costly iPad, the Mac fans may be rather short on cash for a few months. Hopefully though our finances will be in order for the release of the brand new MacBook Pro 2010

Hewlett Packard have announced the release of the new HP Mini 311, a brand new netbook, small on the outside, but oh so powerful on the inside.

While there is some contention as to whether or not this deserves to be classed as a netbook, it is a small, capable laptop computer with enough juice to run Call of Duty 4 with only the occasional stutter.

Netbooks first arrived on the scene as cheap, portable, laptop computers capable of accessing the internet, doing basic word processing, and at a push, even running solitaire. These were perfect for those of us who work on the move, they give the benefits of a laptop, but don’t weigh us down, and do not cost too much if one gets stolen.

It did not take long for other companies to join, and the inevitable it seems has happened, the netbook name has been used on an expensive device, which is high powered, and high utility. While this is not a bad thing as such, I think it does go against some of the fundamental principles of the netbook.

Whatever they call this however, the HP Mini 311 is a fine piece of kit. Its small size and high power make it a very versatile tool. The HP Mini 311 manages to pull off a lot of its graphical prowess with the Nvidia Ion GPU, one of the most powerful portable GPUs on the market. Most of it’s other specifications remain fairly basic, including a meagre 1GB of ram. for this reason they have managed to keep the price at a fairly reasonable $399. It does however remain up to the users whether they spend this money on a portable netbook, or a laptop with twice the power.

The Zalman NC2000 Ultra-Quiet Notebook Cooler runs two variable fans which keep the metal underside, and your laptop cool. And it will work well on laptops, as well as notebooks. With space for a 17 inch widescreen laptop, the Zalman NC2000 Ultra-Quiet Notebook Cooler is truely compatible with all laptop brands, as long as they give USB functionality!

The Zalman laptop cooler can reduce laptop temperature by 5 to 15 degrees. This is a perfect way to lower laptop running temperatures, which will also prevent laptop component damage, fire risk and loss of important data!

If you are looking for a laptop cooler take a look at my Top Ten Laptop Coolers, here you can find some of teh worlds best laptop coolers!

Recently however they have taken the world by storm, especially to those people who just need something cheap to use as they travel.

Despite Sony’s protests that they would never create a netbook it appears that the new Sony Vaio W might just be that. Now as most of us know netbooks are nothing new, they have been around for nearly a decade in one form or another, and during that time they were classed as small, shit, laptops.

Recently however they have taken the world by storm, especially to those people who just need something cheap to use as they travel.

For this reason I think that the new Sony Viao W Series might just fail. Sony have always brought out high quality, but expensive, laptops, and the new Vaio W is no exception. Despite being a netbook you could be looking at paying between $300 to $400 dollars, this is over a hundred dollars more expensive than its competitors.

But maybe I am being a little rash here. The Sony Vaio W does have some nice internal components, and runs with true Vaio reliability. If I bought a netbook, I know I would be looking for light, cheap and portable. But maybe some people need something that is higher spec, light and portable.

Either way, this stunning netbook has some great features that should entice plenty of buyers looking for a decent Netbook computer. I jst think tehy should have got the price range right!

The new 14 hour Methanol Fuel Cell battery only gives out 25 watts of power, but then you think about how low powerd you could make a laptop nowdays to do things like word documents and internet access maybe we will see a slight regression in technology for energy efficient low power components, so people really can work on the move rather than have 45 minutes on a super duper latest technology laptop.

I would love to sit down by the river and work on my laptop, maybe this is the technology that can do it for me!
