Wii Hero Pack let’s users slay the dragons

Hero Pack 1

Wii accessories are getting as common as the games people play. Some are even kicking up the imagination quotient a notch to give players not only a physical experience – such as for sports video games – but also a fantasy experience. Witness the Wii Hero Pack by Camy International.

Though some will enjoy the inevitable Zelda gaming fantasies, why stop there? Imagine pulling the sword of Griffyndoor from the sorting hat in the first Harry Potter video game, or wielding the sword and shield a digital Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe?… Continue Reading»

20GB PlayStation 3s available for $450 at GameStop

Just days after the 80GB PlayStation 3 hit the online marketplace, GameStop seems to be clearing out the defunct 20GB iteration for the low, low price of… $449.99. Yeah, that’s not nearly as low as we’d like to see either, but it is still $50 lower than your next available option (that’d be the 60GB flavor). Still, we’re sure these things will sell like hotcakes for one reason or another, but unless you simply must have a PS3 today regardless of HDD size, we’re just not feelin’ the value here.[Via… Continue Reading»

Sony finally gets official with 80GB PS3 availability

Hey, we can’t blame the folks at Sony for not wanting to write up the obvious on a Friday afternoon, but the firm has stormed back fresh today and doled out the official details regarding the pricing and availability of the 80GB PlayStation 3. It’s also noted that this higher-end edition joins the recently reduced 60GB model, and while Sony didn’t mention the… Continue Reading»

Yet another cooling solution for your Wii

For anyone who has neglected their introverted tendencies lately and stepped foot outside, you’d realize that much of the US is unbearably warm, and while we haven’t seen any outbreaks of overheating Wiis, this here fan is aiming to ensure it stays that way. Of course, it won’t go down as the first of its kind, but this USB-powered wind pusher provides two extra USB ports for the ones it covers, should match your Wii in color fairly well, and is reportedly ultra quiet when squashing heat. No word just… Continue Reading»

Pocket emulators for games of yore

onestation.jpg

There are emulators for both 8-bit and 16-bit platforms for some time now, but most of them run on more powerful devices such as computers and high-end cellphones. The OneStation Portable crams in all those emulated games into a GBA-sized cartridge that slots wonderfully into a GBA Micro-cloned design. You’ll be able to enjoy classics of yore with a 320 x 240 resolution color LCD display at extremely dirt cheap prices – retailing between $30 to $40. Even the game carts are so affordable, selling for just $5 or $6 a pop. Unfortunately, the game… Continue Reading»
