Windows 7 Beta Available January ’09

Keith Combs from Microsoft anounced today that those attending Microsoft Developer Conferences in Mid-January 09 (01/13/2009) would be able to to take a DVD with the Windows 7 Beta, the long anticipated Windows upgrade to Vista.

This is the second release of Windows 7 to b released by microsoft since the Pre Beta was released in October.

AMD to take on Intel Dominance

AMD Gaming Excellence StickerAMD have today announced that they will be bringing out a standard for excellence on gaming machines.  Any machine that meets this standard will be allowed to display a sticker noting that it is either at gaming, or pro gaming level.

This seems to be a specific stab at Intel when they announced an integrated graphics/processor chip, something that could increase PC Performance but may damage competition.
