O2 today announced that they would be cutting the price of the iPhone by £100 ($200) to £169 this week. The move comes shortly after German iPhone provider T-Mobile cut the handset price to a mere 99 Euros, thats around £70 or $140 to you or me.

Good news for those who bought the Full-Price iPhone before 22nd August. Apple announces that now they can get $100 Apple Store Credit for use online or at an Apple Retail Store. You don’t need a receipt, just enter your phone number and serial number and Apple will SMS you an access code. With this access code you will get the $100 dollars to shop for anything Apple. It doesn’t appear to be particularly widespread, but according to a couple threads on Apple’s support forums and elsewhere, a small number of iPhones are suddenly getting “dead spots” on their touchscreens — mostly along the bottom, but occasionally affecting the entire surface.
