HTC Touch Diamond - The Real iPod Killer

HTC DiamondDespite my dislike of the Apple iPod when it was first released the iPod did have a fantastic interface and a sleek design. After Apple realised where the market was heading and moved into DRM free technology (The main reason I disliked the iPod) the iPod even began to appeal to me. Then the iPhone was released, another fantastic device.

Most devices plugged as iPod or iPhone killers tend to fail miserably, their interfaces are never as smooth or effective as they try to clone Apples design, they seem to… Continue Reading»

O2 to slash the price of the iPhone by £100 ($200) in the UK

iPhoneO2 today announced that they would be cutting the price of the iPhone by £100 ($200) to £169 this week. The move comes shortly after German iPhone provider T-Mobile cut the handset price to a mere 99 Euros, thats around £70 or $140 to you or me.

The Reasoning begind this is as yet undecided. Some people say it is due to an imminent release of a 3G version of the iPhone, others think it may be due to Nokias announcement that they soon will be replacing an iPhone killing device… Continue Reading»

Apple to Introduce Faster iPhone Next Year

Apple will deliver the next version of the iPhone early next year, TheStreet.com has learned. A faster third-generation, or 3G, iPhone will be available sometime in the first quarter, say people familiar with the production plans. The new iPhone should help quiet critics who were unimpressed by the 2.5G EDGE technology the first version used… Continue Reading»

Good news for those who bought the Full-Price iPhone before 22nd August. Apple announces that now they can get $100 Apple Store Credit for use online or at an Apple Retail Store. A couple of interesting things about the program. First, the program doesn’t work with iPhones that haven’t been activated on AT&T. Second, is… Continue Reading»

Cheap iPhone: Only for $299

Apple today announced that it would be selling its new 4GB “iPhone Leper” for as low as $299. This is very good news for iPhone fans. I was myself planning to buy my ‘Dream gadget’ but couldn’t afford it, I think now I can (until I rob a bank). Everybody is talking about iPhone, and I couldn’t stop myself to grab this news… Continue Reading»

Apple quietly handling iPhone touchscreen issues?

It doesn’t appear to be particularly widespread, but according to a couple threads on Apple’s support forums and elsewhere, a small number of iPhones are suddenly getting “dead spots” on their touchscreens — mostly along the bottom, but occasionally affecting the entire surface. Apple is apparently being extremely proactive in dealing with the issue, calling customers who’ve posted in their forums and arranging replacements — the company can’t let anything tarnish the image of The Most Important Device Ever, after all. All of our iPhones are still working great (even… Continue Reading»

Man has thumbs altered to improve iPhone dexterity

This story isn’t for the faint of heart. In fact, we wouldn’t really recommend it for anybody, but we’ll soldier on regardless. Thomas Martel hails from Colorado, and after upgrading to an iPhone, he decided his big hands were just too much of a burden to bear. “From my old Treo, to my Blackberry, to this new iPhone, I had a hard time hitting the right buttons, and I always lost those little styluses,” says Martel. So what’s a man to do? Why, get those digits downsized, of course. Thomas… Continue Reading»
