The Future of Hard Drives
Solid State Hard Drives, such as the flash cards you use in your camera, have long been proposed as the future of information storage. Already you will find solid state hard drives in devices such as Laptops and notebooks. They tend to be around 64GB in size, less than conventional hard drives, but are more resilient robust and reliable. After all Solid State is simply that, there are no moving parts inside, greatly increasing survival rates if the laptop is dropped or sharply knocked about.
Today however Samsung released information about their latest creation. The Samsung 256GB Solid state Hard drive, release date set at eth end of the coming year and with upto 200mbps transfer rate you are looking at technology that while not quite as large capacity as regular hard drives is more dependable, smaller and more portable technology.
The release of this latest breed of flash device is fantastic news for many people, especially those in the digital photography and video lifestyle. Giving huge amounts of data storage in a small compact and safe space!
