Starry Night Bed will change the way you sleep

A recent Reader poll at Problogger revealed that the best time bloggers prefer to blog is at night, in the bed. So, what else can be more rocking for bloggers than a bed with internet connectivity. That is not all. There are more features in this bed than just internet connectivity. This wired Starry Night Bed comes with sensors, temperature controls, home theater etc. Mark Quinn, group executive vice president of sales and marketing at Leggett and Platt in Carthage, Mo. said about the bed that
“No one in the bedding industry has ever put so much technology into a bed or sleep system. It’s a first for us, and a first for the industry,”
If a person can not sleep at night, the vibration sensors of the bed detect his snoring patterns, tossing and turning, and breathing. If it observes that you are snoring, it will automatically elevate the bed’s head seven degrees to open airwaves and if it can’t observe any snoring, it will return to its original position For the first 30 days, the bed tracks a sleeper’s habits, learning the sleep pattern. If it senses unusual restlessness on a given night, it will automatically come know that the user couldn’t sleep and offer recommendations for a better sleep, like a massage at night. Water circulating through small channels in the mattress can also be warmed or cooled to a sleeper’s preference. Also, the system can be programmed to an individuals preferences. For example, if an individual sets the preferences that he is to watch TV for 2 hours, the bed will elevate the head position accordingly so that it could provide more comfort.
The cost can be a concern. The company hopes to keep the price between $20,000 and $50,000 and will be launching it in Mid 2009.
