Essential Social Networking and Bookmarking Toolbars and Extensions

After playing with Social networking and social bookmarking for some time now, I have come across these toolbars and Plugins which enhance the user experience. Almost all of them work only with Firefox, so better use Firefox if you want to use them. Unless specified, all of the below tool bars and Plugins are for Firefox
Social networks are a great way to reach a new audience. Another email marketing solution involves using email marketing campaign software and opt in email lists.
Toolbars :
- Delicious: This toolbar make bookmarking pages on Del.icio.us a snap.
- LinkedIn: It saves a lot of time while searching and saving data from LinkedIn.
- Myspace: If you are MySpace addict, this toolbar is for you. It send all updates direct to your Firefox Browser.
- Stumbleupon: This doesn’t need introduction because this is what has made StumbleUpon so famous.
- Twitter: Twitter is preffered over Pownce because the of the ease of posting to Twitter. This Twitterbar makes it more easy to post to Twitter.
- Digg: This toolbar is available for Firefox as well as Internet Explorer 6+. This toolbar saves a lot of bandwidth and time.
- Orkut: Add friends, send scraps, view messages, all withing Firefox.
- BlueBox Bar: See what’s hot now on the Web.
Extensions:
- Social Media: A Firefox plugin by 97th Floor company, this lets you see what stories have been submitted to which social bookmarking sites and how many votes the story has received across these networks.
- Propeller: Propeller.com Sitemail Notifier extension adds a button to your firefox Browser and notifies you when you have new Sitemail.
- Bookmarking Manager: The Online Bookmark extension allows you to access all your personal online bookmarks from within your Firefox browser.
- LiveJournal:Make LiveJournal more useful.
- ShareHolic: Don’t relay on websites to integrate Digg and Reddit buttons, Justintegrate them to your browser with this Firefox Extension.
- ShareThis: ShareThis makes it easier to share any type of content with anyone.
- EmailThis: Just another way to send the URL, title and highlighted text of the current webpage to anyone via Email.
- ClipMark: With this you can clip the best part of a Webpage without bookmarking the entire page.
- Simpy: Adds social bookmarking capabilities with tags and notes to Firefox.

As for me ShareHolic is what people waited for. Perhaps it is on early stage, but idea is good - to have one social bookmark publishing tool as add-on.

The ShareThis plugin is amazing because users can either post to their favorite social bookmark, they can email it, or post it to their social network profile. My biggest complaint was not everyone uses all of the social bookmarks when bookmarking something they like. So you clutter your page with all those icons. ShareThis makes it easy for you users to decide with a ajax script that opens a small window on the page. Very unintrusive. I’m going to take a look at ClipMark. That looks like it could be a good tool also.
